¶ Introduction
Who can forget the cute and martial arts obsessed Panda who taught us that self-belief can help us scale great heights or for that matter the ever charming and fascinating world of Narnia! Blockbuster movies such as Kung Fu Panda, The Chronicles of Narnia, Wall-E, Coraline, Up, Bolt, Ice Age and Monsters vs. Aliens are striking examples of the miracle that is animation. Animation industry has boundless scope for those who love to create magic. The field of animation is sometimes misunderstood with cartooning. Cartooning is simply drawing caricatures of characters with some distinct subtleties to make the character evoke a sense of comedy. On the other hand, animation is the art of breathing life into these characters. Animation is the art with which inanimate objects are brought to life with the help of various modern computer based sequencing techniques.
¶ Step-by-Step
The best way to pursue a career in animation is by getting a graduate degree or diploma in animation. But a graduate degree in animation is not very prevalent in India yet and only very few institutes offer this course at present. On the other hand, a host of institutes are offering diploma courses in animation. A Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) is also a very important course to step in the animation arena. A bachelor’s degree in animation and the BFA are three-year courses whereas the diploma course in animation varies in the range of six-months to one- and-a-half-years.For doing a diploma or degree in animation, the eligibility criteria includes a 10+2 from a recognised board with at least 45% marks.
¶ Start Early
There are no special subjects that are needed to be studied at this level. But aptitude in sketching, drawing and deep interest in computers is always considered essential to gain entry into the animation industry. It would be very appropriate to study fine arts at the college level and Bachelor in Fine Arts is an ideal way to give career in animation a big push. If, however, you are not pursuing fine arts but are instead pursuing some other stream, there are still chances to chalk out a career in animation. In such a situation, you must have an attitude and passion to excel in animation.
¶ Is it the Right Career for Me?
If you have oodles of creativity, then yes, this is the right career option for you. For being a good animator you need to possess a great deal of zeal and imagination. You must be good at drawing and sketching. An understanding of human, bird and animal expressions and movement is very important part of animation as it will help you express the characters you create in the most appropriate way.
Furthermore, you should have good visualisation skills and flair for using colours. Patience, hard work and dedication towards your work are also a must for this job profile. Animation is a multitasking job so for that you need to work as a team, therefore, you need to have good communication skills. So if you have the above skills and a keen interest to explore this creative art, this is the career for you.
¶ What would it Cost Me?
Depending upon the institution and the course you select the fee can cost you anything between Rs.50,000 to Rs.2,00,000.
¶ Funding/Scholarship

The demand has exceeded the supply as the animation industry requires more than 30,000 professionals every year.
¶ Market Watch

Further, India, steeped in rich cultural heritage and mythology coupled with the technology know-how, is ready to produce full-length animation movies and short animation features. All this means more and more jobs for 2-D and 3-D animators and an increasing international recognition of Indian animators.
¶ International Focus

Cosmetology involves the study and practice of beauty treatments, including hairstyling, nail care, skin care and makeup. Depending on his or her interest, a cosmetologist can choose to specialize in one or more of these areas.
¶ Cosmetology Career Information
A cosmetologist may wear a number of different professional hats. For example, a cosmetologist may be a hairstylist, barber, perm or hair colour specialist, manicurist, pedicurist, make-up artist, esthetician or combination of these roles, sharing the goal of enhancing clients' appearance and style.
A cosmetologist's typical day may consist of any number of duties, including cutting and styling hair, performing scalp massages, applying hair color and other chemical treatments, doing makeup and teaching clients how to perform these treatment and techniques in their own homes.
Experienced and successful cosmetologists with additional administrative skills can go on to work as a salon owner or manager, sales representative or cosmetology school instructor. Other career options for cosmetologists include becoming an image consultant, makeup artist or an independent stylist working with photo shoots, movies, advertisements and fashion shows.
¶ Employment Facts
Cosmetologists and other personal appearance workers typically work in hair salons and barbershops, although there are those who work in spas or resorts. Some cosmetologists are self employed. Those who are either lease space in salons or own their own shops. Many jobs are part-time positions. Hours typically include evenings and weekends because that is when clients are available. Self-employed cosmetologists usually work long hours.
Today, the Beauty and Wellness sector has gained prominence in India and displayed consistent and remarkable growth, making it a potentially significant contributor to economic growth and a leading employer creating millions of employment opportunities across the breadth of the country.
As per the report by Global Hospitality Consultant HVS, India was listed as one of the top 20 Spa countries worldwide. Combining the benefits of Rejuvenation & Alternate Therapy services along with holiday packages has become increasingly popular. Moreover, Ayurveda , MedSpa, Natural and Resort based Spa rejuvenation centers are estimated to contribute over 30 percent of the total income in the tourism industry. Yoga and meditation courses have also attracted the attention of the tourists and travelers.
The wellness industry in India is poised to touch Rs. 1,00,000 crore (Rs 1 trillion) by 2015, with a compounded annual growth rate of 15-17%, from about Rs 70,000 crore in 2012 , with a likely shortage of ~600,000 skilled personnel by 2016. FICCI-PwC report had forecast that the number of people employed in the Wellness space could potentially almost treble from over 1 million lakh in 2011 to 3 million by 2015.
The rapid growth in beauty and wellness industry along with the entry of giant organized players both nationally and globally, has led to huge demand for trained personnel. However, there is a huge deficit in the availability of skilled and trained personnel. This talent deficit poses extreme threat to the growth and expansion of the whole beauty and wellness industry. In the Beauty and Wellness industry, only 20% to 30% of the total market share is controlled by the organized players. The rest of the market is unorganized and fragmented with the presence of small and regional players.
¶ Educational Requirements
To become a cosmetologist you will need to attend a state-licensed training school and be at least 18 years old. The training doesn't stop here. Most people who work in this field continue to take advanced courses that help them stay abreast of the latest trends.

¶ Related Resources
Digital marketing has opened up new career options in India. Companies in this digital age are no longer particular about high level degrees but skills required to execute plans.
¶ What is Digital Marketing
Digital or Internet Marketing is a set of modern skills where marketing is done from the comfort of an office. Compared to old form of marketing where field executives need to visit places to promote different products and services. Here we talk about promoting brands and their offerings over the internet. Even Times of India - a leading news platform has reported 1.5 lakhs jobs openings that will be offered in India.
¶ How Online Marketing can help companies
In India and everywhere else people are getting well versed with Internet platforms like Search engines and Social media. So, online marketing is planned and executed in such a way that prospective customers are reached on their PC/Laptops and specially on mobile devices. Google is such an example where companies work towards achieving top rankings in Google as that enable them to get enquiries which eventually leads to a sale.
¶ Different Online Platforms
Companies hire experts in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Social Media Marketing done on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Pay Per Click is usually referred to as Paid marketing on Google, Bing Yahoo, Other websites and mobile apps. Also all visitors data and activities are tracked via tools like Google Analytics.
¶ How and Where to Learn Digital Marketing
Well, this can be tricky because there are many such institutes all over India who claims to be the best. So what I will suggest is to attend few demo classes, check experience working on digital marketing projects and knowledge of trainers, etc. There are some good institutes for Marketing but the fees might be little high as most of the Institutes charges between Rs. 25,000 - Rs. 50,000.
¶ Training Modules
Search Engine Optimization
Pay Per Click (Google Adwords)
Social Media Marketing
Google Analytics
Email Marketing
To conclude, Digital marketing can be pursued by students with a general degree or even a PUC passed student. While most of the multi national companies hire an employee with a general degree there are many Indian companies as well as startups who are okay to hire a Digital Marketer with a PUC certificate.

Executive MBA Programs is undoubtedly a great course for individuals seeking a powerful and fruitful career ahead. But for it to be of optimal utility you need to know the correct channel that will drive you towards your specific growth oriented goal. With correct channel we mean the correct specialization that you need to pursue so as to realize your growth ambition. Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) offers several specializations that offer courses specially curated to give you maximum exposure to real world problems and thereon develop your skills to solve those problems.
¶ Tips for selection of PGPM
Choosing correct specialization
It is one of the most crucial and tricky part of your management program that decides your career ahead. Thus before deciding on a specialization for your PGPM, do consider certain factors that will greatly help you choose the correct option for yourself.
Know your Interest:
The first and foremost factor that you should consider is your field of interest. There is no point in studying something that feels burden to you. Reflect and decide on areas that you are interested in, however, make sure you have the required aptitude for the areas you are considering. Your interest and aptitude together should decide on what specialization you should take. Like if you are good in numbers then finance should be one of your options.
Look for options:
Before picking out on what specialization you should go for have a look at the options available to you. Thereon narrow down your research as per your background, your line of work, etc. A management course is purely a professional course that adds on to your skills, it would be fruitful if it correlates to your present set of knowledge and skills. For example, the viable options for someone into administration will be quite different from someone who is from an engineering background as both of them have different skill sets and both would probably like to head on a career in their respective fields.
Do the research:
Opting for PGPM clearly hints that you have an earnest desire for a strong career. And for that you should decide on a specialization that channelizes you towards your goal. Do the research work as to what course will lead you towards your goal and further what is its scope in the market. Do know its long term prospects. Will it help you in long term? What is its credibility? A thorough research will let you have know-how of market trends, popular fields, future prospects, industry boom, etc.
Pick on a specialization that is in demand:
The key point here is to get good employment. Hence know what specialization is in great demand or is preferred by the recruiters. Doing a specialization that promises a good future should be your motive while selecting the specialization.
No doubt, there are myriad of options available but certainly you need to choose the specialization that suits you the best. It gives you the expertise required in your work field and hence an edge over so many other candidates. Simultaneously, relying on a single skill or aspect isn’t advisable. Though you need a specialization that gives you best career enhancement, you should also keep in mind that your overall development is must to meet the challenges of the rigorously developing market.
